PM, OQ/PV & REPAIR SERVICES

PM, OQ/PV & REPAIR SERVICES

  • Repair Services

When a GC, LC or Mass Spectrometer is intermittent or non-functional, customers are looking for timely and thorough service at a reasonable price - that is the GLTS definition of Customer Service Value. GLTS offers both Onsite Service and Bench Repair, depending on the type of equipment and issues involved.

Onsite Service is the most common response that customers want. In many cases an instrument is best serviced in the lab situation where it is failing. This allows dealing with environmental & supply issues onsite, and where moving the equipment is undesirable for any number of reasons. Onsite response is given priority over bench repair work.

Bench Repair is another option for some modular systems where the item is shipped to GLTS. The hourly service rate is lower and the travel charge is replaced with a return shipping charge. The response time for bench repair is longer due to priority given to onsite servicing.

Got Questions? We look to offer timely and helpful information to customers who have questions related to the operation of their instrument or a service issue. Feel free to call during 8am - 5pm EST business hours.

  • Preventative Maintenance Services

What are they and where's the Value?

Preventative Maintenance (PM) recognizes the normal wear mechanisms that over time will begin to affect your system's performance, and preemptively deals with them to minimize their impact on your sample load. In other words, the failures that would affect you on their own time-table are mostly removed according to your schedule by setting up a PM visit.

GC's, LC's and Mass Spectrometers all have failure modes that are wear & use related. Some of them are not obvious and often their symptoms may lead a user to pursue many avenues to resolve the symptom, sometimes without ever dealing with the source causes. This translates to a lot of frustration, and wasted time and money! In the big picture, preventative maintenance takes out the main players in the wear game and renews the system to the way it should be. Having a skilled person perform it also brings their experience to your instrument so that any other issues that are presenting themselves can be recognized and dealt with as well.

GLTS has set PM procedures for dealing with the various instruments, with checklists and basic criteria requirements demonstrating operation. Contact us if you have any questions, we would be glad to discuss Preventative Maintenance value with you.

  • OQ / PV Services

What are they and where's the Value?

While a PM procedure renews the common wear items and may include basic testing to check some operational criteria, Operational Qualification / Performance Verification (OQ/PV) testing includes testing that demonstrates capabilities with traceable standards and equipment. In some market sectors, increased reliance on demonstrated performance, along with proper documentation is becoming more necessary. OQ/PV qualification would be applied following an annual PM procedure, and then selectively following any repair process during the next 12 months that may affect a portion of the system's validated capabilities.

GLTS has OQ/PV procedures for GC, LC & GC/MS systems. Contact us if you have any questions, we would be glad to discuss OQ/PV value with you.
