This pump is a direct replacement for older E2M2 Foreline Pumps, or can also be used to replace the smaller Edwards E2M1.5 Foreline Pumps or Pfeiffer small foreline pumps that were shipped with the Agilent 5973 & 5975 GC/MSDs (the RV3 pump runs noticeably quieter than the smaller pumps, and features more pumping capacity to back up the high vacuum turbo or diffusion pump in your MSD).

The RV3 pump has a standard 120 volt AC plug that should be plugged directly into an AC power source. GLTS will provide a label that can be placed above the MSD power switch "External Pump - On First & Off Last".

- The recommended oil for this pump is Inland 45.

- This pump is switch-selectable for 115 or 230 VAC operation.

- When replacing smaller pumps, this larger pump should not be adapted to draw power from the 5973, 5975, or 5977 Foreline Pump socket on the back of the MSD, as it may draw too much current and damage the MSD.

- When replacing smaller pumps with KF-16 intake flanges, order the KF-16 to KF-25 adapter, and a KF-25 coseal & clamp to be able to adapt your current vacuum hose with its KF-16 fitting to the RV3's KF-25 intake flange.

- If this pump is replacing an Edwards E2M2 pump (eg. for 5970/71/72 MSDs), then order the pig-tail adapter to allow it to plug into the pump power socket on the back of the MSD.
